For the caregiver

Caregiver burnout is real. So is rest.

Worn out from caring for your mom or dad in the Permian Basin? Needing a break does not mean you love them less. Free, independent respite guidance and caregiver support from Kendall Warren, BCPA·CSA.

If it's urgent

If today feels heavier than you can hold, that matters too.

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. If the exhaustion has turned into despair — thoughts of harming yourself, or of not wanting to go on — call or text 988, any hour of any day. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is free, confidential, and answered around the clock. You don't have to be in a certain kind of crisis to reach out — worn down and overwhelmed is reason enough.

Do these three things first.

Nothing here has to happen all at once. These three calm, gentle steps are enough for right now.

  1. Name it — out loud

Say the words to someone you trust: “I'm worn out, and I need a break.” That sentence isn't a complaint, and it isn't a betrayal — it's the most honest thing a caregiver can say. Needing a break does not mean you love them less. It means you've been giving more than one person can give.

  2. Accept help this week

Think of everyone who has said “let me know if you need anything” — and let one of them mean it. Pick one real thing this week: groceries, a ride to an appointment, an afternoon of sitting with your loved one while you rest. Small yeses are how the weight starts to lift.

  3. Put real respite on the calendar

A real break has a date on it — a few hours, an overnight, even a week — with trusted hands taking over so you can truly rest. Kendall can help you arrange it, free, and there's no wrong way to start the conversation.

When you need more than a phone line

Kendall helps you choose the right kind of break — free. When your family needs trusted hands now, she connects you directly to respite care — a real break, by the hour or around the clock, while trusted caregivers stay with your loved one — serving Midland, Odessa, and surrounding communities within about 35 miles. And you're always free to choose anyone.

When caregiving at home has become too much, a community can carry the weight. Kendall personally guides placements across assisted living, memory care, independent living, and nursing homes — serving families across West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico — at no cost to you.

Ready for a real break? Call the 24/7 home-care line at 432-695-6489 to arrange respite, or the senior placement line at (432) 994-8088 — Kendall's guidance stays free and independent either way.
