HOW I HELP

Your parent earned these benefits. Let's make sure they actually get them.

Most families I sit with have no idea how much help their parent has already earned — through a lifetime of work, or years of service in uniform. I help you understand what may be out there, in plain words, and I connect you to free, accredited help to pursue it. My guidance is free, independent, and veteran-supported — and nobody should ever have to pay someone just to file for a benefit their parent already earned.

Is this you?

This page is for you if…

  • Your parent — or their spouse — served in the military, and you've heard there might be help paying for care, but no one has ever explained it to you.
  • You keep hearing words like "Aid & Attendance" and "Medicaid" and you're not sure what either one really means for your family.
  • Care costs are starting to keep you up at night, and you want to know every door that exists before the savings run out.
  • Someone offered to file a VA claim for your family — for a fee — and something about it didn't sit right with you.
  • You're the one everybody looks to for answers, and you'd rather hear the truth plainly than sit through another sales pitch.

How I work

Step by step, side by side.

01

We learn what your parent may qualify for

We talk — by phone or face to face — and I walk you through the benefits that may fit your parent's story. VA Aid & Attendance, a pension supplement that can help pay for care at home or in a community. The basics of Medicaid. The programs most families never hear about until it's late. Plain words, no jargon, no pressure.

02

We gather the story and the paperwork

Benefits run on documents and on your parent's story — service records, the realities of daily life, what care actually looks like at home. I help you understand what matters and where families usually find it, so you're not digging through boxes blind.

03

I connect you to free, accredited help

For VA claims, I point you only to free, VA-accredited help — the people authorized to prepare and file claims at no charge. Never paid claim-filers. That's a line I don't cross, and I'd rather you didn't either.

04

We keep the care plan moving

Benefits take time — honestly, months. So while the paperwork works its way through, we keep your parent's care moving forward. Their care can't wait on the government, and it doesn't have to.

Honest answers

Questions families ask me.

What is VA Aid & Attendance, in plain words?

It's a pension supplement from the VA — extra help, on top of a pension, that can go toward paying for care at home or in a senior community. It exists because the VA recognizes that needing help with daily life costs money. Whether your parent may qualify depends on their particular story, which is exactly what the free two-minute screen in my Guide is for. And to be plain: this is general information, not legal or financial advice — for the fine points, I'll point you to qualified, accredited help.

Does applying for VA benefits cost anything?

It shouldn't cost you a dime. Free, VA-accredited help exists for preparing and filing claims, and that is the only kind of help I will ever point you to. Please be wary of anyone who wants to charge your family to file — your parent already earned this benefit, and you should not have to pay to ask for it.

How long does the benefits process take?

Honestly? Months, usually — and I won't pretend otherwise. The VA and Medicaid both move at their own pace. That's exactly why we start early, get the story and paperwork right the first time, and keep your parent's care plan moving while the application works its way through. Care doesn't wait on an approval letter, and it doesn't have to.

Your parent kept their end of the deal — I'll help you make sure the other end gets kept, too.
